“It is not possible to be in favour of justice for some people and not be in favour of justice for all people.”

Hon’ble High Court of Delhi, is much inclined towards its drive to strengthen the judiciary technologically with the view to enhance the approach of speedy and uninterrupted justice. For attaining this goal, High Court of Delhi, made a paradigm shift in it’s functioning visibly after the onset of Covid-19 pandemic, and augmented it’s various ICT enabled services and introduced several new e-initiatives in order to ensure seamless and effective functioning of the justice delivery system unhindered by any restraint in the times of crisis.
One of it’s recent innovative works is the inauguration of the Disaster Recovery Centre for High Court of Delhi, at Madurai Bench of Madras High Court on March 2, 2024, by Hon’ble Justice Sanjay Vijaykumar Gangapurwala, Chief Justice Madras High Court and Hon’ble Justice Rajiv Shakdhar, Judge High Court of Delhi & Chairman, Information Technology & Artificial Intelligence (IT&AI) Committee of High Court of Delhi, and companion judges of Madras High Court. The establishment of DR Centre of Delhi, at Madurai Bench of Madras High Court, is the brainchild of Hon’ble Justice Rajiv Shakdhar, Chairman, IT&AI Committee of High Court of Delhi.
In furtherance of it’s initiatives, the High Court of Delhi, under the aegis of Hon’ble Information Technology & Artificial Intelligence Committee, took a momentous decision to install and commission one unit of high-end NetApp Network-Attached Storage (NAS), at Server Room within the premises of the Court in Delhi, and the second unit of NAS at it’s Disaster Recovery Centre at Madurai Bench of Madras High Court, Tamil Nadu.
The DR Centre at Madurai, for High Court of Delhi, from a distance of approximately 2575 kilometres, will have back up of all the data and applications/softwares of High Court of Delhi, and as such, it will ensure safety and security of the data and application/softwares of the Court in the event of any untoward incident within the premises of the Court in Delhi, as also any cyber security breach.
The DR Centre is very crucial as it makes sure that all the courts of the High Court of Delhi, can continue their functioning even in the face of disasters such as natural calamities, cyber attacks, or infrastrucure failures. In the event of a disaster, a well-implemented DR Centre can facilitate a quick and seamless transition to backup systems. This minimises downtime, ensuring that court proceedings and services can resume promptly.
