The Government of Bihar established National Law University on 15th July, 2006 which started functioning effectively from 15th August, 2006. Chanakya National Law University provides wide range of facilities on its campus. A well-managed residential accommodation with modern facility provided to students. Mess & Canteen facilities on campus provide everything from a simple coffee and sandwich to a full meal. University provides a full range of medical services for students & for employees who register as patients. In addition to general practice services, CNLU provides a range of specialist clinics and visiting practitioners. University organized regular careers fairs, training workshops, and one-to-one guidance for students. Counseling Service aims to enable students to achieve their academic and personal goals by providing confidential counseling and support for any difficulties encountered while at CNLU.
Number of retired Judges of the Supreme Court, High Courts and lower Judiciary as well as Senior Advocates & Educationalist have offered to assist the CNLU in its teaching and research programmes making education at CNLU a rare and exciting experience to the student body. Courses
B.A., & B.B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) 5 year integrated course
The five-year integrated undergraduate B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) & B.B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) Degree Programme are the flagship degree at CNLU that offers students training in a range of legal and non-legal subjects. CNLU pioneered this five-year programme in India with an intention to provide a strong foundation upon which students can choose to pursue professional options or further academic opportunities.
LL.M. one year course
For admission to LL.M. course should have passed an Undergraduate Degree in Law (i.e. 3 Years LL.B./Five Years Integrated LL.B. (Hons.)/ any other equivalent degree with the following Marks/Equivalent Grade:
Fifty Five percent (55%) marks in the aggregate of the maximum marks prescribed in the case of candidates belonging to Unreserved/OBC/Specially Abled Persons and other categories, and
Fifty percent (50%) marks in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category,
Library
CNLU library is very spacious and Air Conditioned. It works from 09:00 am to 09:00 pm on all six days of a week. Library is well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of CD- ROMs, On-Line databases, books, e-journals, reports, thesis etc. Library has a collection of more than 14000 Books. Library subscribes more than 23 Indian and Foreign Journals.
Facilities
University provides a wide range of IT services including campus internet access via a wireless network, Online Journals Access within campus etc. Internet services are provided to students in their respective hostels too. A healthy body makes for a healthy mind. In order to ensure your well-being, CNLU has full-fledged dispensary with qualified doctor, nurse and compounder to take care of health issues of students. University owned a well equipped ambulance to take care of any kind of emergency.
