Mussoorie popularly known as the Queen of Hills is 34 kms from Dehradun and is situated at an altitude of 2003 mtrs in the Garhwal hills. It provides excellent respite to people who want relief from the hot sultry conditions of the plains, especially since it is close enough to the capital to make a just weekend trip. There are many places of interest for tourists in Mussoorie like Gun Hill, which offers a beautiful panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges namely Bunderpunch, Srikantha, Pithwara and Gangotri group etc. and a bird’s eye view of Mussoorie town and Doon Valley. Enjoy a Ropeway ride to the second highest peak of Mussoorie. Municipal Garden is afamouspicnic spot having a beautiful garden and an artificial mini lake with boating facilities.  Childer’s Lodge is thehighest peak of Mussoorie near Lal Tibba. Snow view from this spot is exhilarating. The main charm of Camel’s Back Road is horse riding and walking. Sunset view of the Himalayas is superb. Kempty Fall has the distinction of being the biggest and prettiest waterfall located in a beautiful valley and is surrounded by high mountains. Bath at the foot of the falls is refreshing and enjoyable for children and adults alike.  Nag Devta Temple provides a charming view of Doon Valley as well as of Mussoorie. Mussoorie Lake, anewly developed picnic spot, situated on Mussoorie-Dehradun road is about 6 kms from Mussoorie. It is a delightful spot. Pedal boats are available. Van Chetna Kendra isat a distance of about 2 kms on Tehri bye pass road.  The main attraction is the wildlife of the park like Ghurar, Kanankar, Himalayan Peacock, Monal etc. Jwalaji Temple (Benog Hill) is situated on the top of the Benog Hill and has an idol of Mata Durga in it. Clous End the bungalow built in 1838 by a British Major is one of the First Four buildings of Mussoorie. Naga Tibba is an ideal spot for trekking. Naga Tibba is the highest peak around Mussoorie at 10,000 feet and is covered by thick forests. Surkhanda Devi Temple at 35 km down the Mussoorie – Tehri road is perched on a peak, and demands a stiff two-km climb from devotees. Mussoorie is a beautiful place which should be visited by everyone!
