Q. What are the rules provided for the transportation of pigs by rail or road?

A. In transportation of pigs by road, goods vehicles which are generally used for transporting animals, shall not carry more than twenty pigs.

While transporting pigs by rail, no railway wagon shall accommodate more than the number of pigs as provided in the following table:

Maximum number in a wagon area less than 21.1 sqm is 35 Maximum number in a wagon area more than 21.1 sqm is 50 Maximum number in a wagon area of less than 12.5 sqm is 25 Maximum number in a wagon area of more than 12.5 sqm is 30 Not allowed
