Q. What are the rules provided for the transportation of Poultry by rail, road and air?

A. Containers are used for transporting poultry by rail, road and air. The crates used for transporting poultry must be sterilized and may not be piled one above the other. There are specific numbers of poultry that may be accommodated in such containers.

Types of Poultry Number in a Containter
1) Month old chicks 24
2) Three-month old chicks 12
3) Adult stock 12 (excluding geese and turkeys) 12
4) Geese and turkeys 10 young or 2 growing or 1 adult
5) New born chicks 80
6) Poults 60
