CONVENTION ON "Rule of Law"

The Bar Association of India (BAI) is organizing a Convention on "Rule of Law" from 6 th April to 7 th April, 2012 at the India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.

The theme of the Convention may be divided into the following key themes which are vital to the upholding of the Rule of Law which may be further fine-tuned: .Electoral reforms to ensure good governance and elimination of tainted/black money from Elections; .Accountability of persons in power: UN Convention against Corruption; .Judicial Accountability and Judicial Independence: How to ensure the one without compromising the other; .Media: Paid News, Media Ownership and Impact on the Rule of Law;

. Role of the Legal Profession in Upholding and Strengthening the Rule of Law: Looking Outward and Looking Inward.
