Delhi High Court gets 8 new judges

Delhi High Court Chief Justice Darmar Murugesan on 17th April, 2013 swore-in eight Additional Judges of the Court.

Of these five - Najmussahar Waziri alias Najmi Waziri, V.K. Rao, Sanjeev Sachdeva, Jayant Nath and Vibhu Bakhru - are from the Delhi High Court Bar while two District Judges, Sunita Gupta of the Tis Hazari and Deepa Sharma of the Dwarka Courts, have been elevated from the lower court.

The eighth Judge, V.P. Vaish, was the Registrar-General of the High Court before being promoted as an Additional Judge.

With these fresh appointments, the High Court has now a total of 43 Judges, but it is still five short of the sanctioned strength of 48.
