Born on 9-10-1952. Passed High School and Intermediate in 1st Division. Graduated in Science with distinction, from the University of Allahabad in 1970 securing 6th position in order of merit. After taking a law degree, joined the Bar in 1973. Represented the State of UP in Table Tennis, and was captain, champion and colour holder of the University of Allahabad in Table Tennis and Squash. Served as Additional Advocate General for the State of Uttar Pradesh from March 26, 1997 to February 4, 1999 and was appointed as permanent Judge of the Allahabad High Court on February 5, 1999. Has written two books entitled ‘Cyberlaws’ and ‘A Lawyer’s World and Childhood dreams’.
Has established a charitable trust named ‘Krishna Virendra trust’ in memory of his mother. The trust offers scholarships to meritorious students and promotes sports activities.
Took oath on 22-10-2012 as Chief Justice of High Court of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur.
